About Everyone

Do you have a couple of skeins of fingering weight that look great together? Is one variegated and one solid or semi-solid? Well, I have just the pattern for you! Everyone is a top-down, half-pi shawl that uses surprisingly simple techniques to achieve stunning results. This is a full-size, wrap-yourself-in-love kind of shawl. One of my favorite things about this pattern is that it uses up both skeins equally. I don’t know why, but it makes me sad to have half a skein leftover when its coordinating skein is all used up. So, if you share that quirk with me, you’ll love this pattern.

You’ll enjoy the relaxing flow of knitting with almost no counting as you watch your shawl grow into a full-size show-stopper. This pattern features stripes of texture as well as color, therefore it looks best with one variegated skein and one solid or semi-solid skein. The simple techniques in this pattern will delight you with stunning results.

Everyone is knit using Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock Lightweight. I used the colors Fleece Navidad and Enchanted Forest for mine and it feels like sitting by a Christmas tree. You’ll adore how you feel wrapped up in this yarn. It’s soft and silky and substantial all at the same time. I’m obsessed with it.

This is the second shawl in my Every collection, an exploration of all of my ideas for this stitch pattern. The first shawl, Everywhen, is knit side-to-side and uses short rows to morph from asymmetrical to symmetrical. The third shawl is called Everywear and is also a side-to-side triangle and it also uses short rows to morph from an arrow shape into a triangle.
