About the Cat Hat
I made this Cat Hat to wear to Disneyland for cute photos because I love the Cheshire Cat. This was back when we were full time RVers and we spent a lot of time in SoCal. We are a family of Disney fanatics, so I had plenty of people to wear my Disney hats around the parks. A couple of my favorites are Sea Witch and Mr. Otter (Ravelry links) [Love Crafts: Sea Witch, Mr. Otter; Etsy: Sea Witch, Mr. Otter]. Of course, you can easily modify this hat to make any color cat you want. A black cat for Halloween, perhaps?
The best thing about this hat is the construction of the ears, they stand up on their own. Ear stitches are picked up and knit in the round directly on the finished hat, so there’s no attaching to worry about, either.
I knit mine with Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal Worsted, but the colors I used aren’t available anymore. If I was going to substitute another yarn, I’d choose Knit Picks Swish Worsted and swatch to see if I need to adjust needle size to get gauge. Swish is soft and I don’t like my forehead to get itchy.
