About the Pattern
The Riveras to Remember wrap is inspired by the Disney•Pixar movie Coco. Each color and stitch pattern corresponds to one aspect of the movie.
The orange section at either end of the wrap has a subtle texture representing the flower petals that make up the bridge to the land of the dead.
The white speckled section is filled with lacy skulls to represent everyone Miguel meets in the land of the dead.
The black and colorful section has a feather and fan pattern reminiscent of the beautiful scenery and arching architecture of the land of the dead. I just love the details in the land of the dead. Have you noticed all the hidden skull shapes?
This fingering weight wrap is nice and wide, but also fine enough to wear around your neck as a scarf. All of the yarns I used in my Riveras to Remember are by Knit Picks. Color A: 2 skeins Alpaca Cloud Fingering in Harriet (100% Superfine Alpaca; 200 yd/ 50 g), Color B: 1 skein Stroll Hand Painted in Red Wing Blackbird (75% Fine Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon; 462 yd/ 100 g), Color C: 1 skein Hawthorne Speckle Hand Paint in Jupiter Speckle (80% Superwash Fine Highland Wool, 20% Nylon; 357 yd/ 100 g)
