Grand Rapids Shawl Pattern

About the Pattern
My Grand Rapids shawl is named after the lettuce! The first sample I knit was in a green variegated yarn and the ruffled edge reminded me of lettuce. So I googled types of lettuce and found a name I liked. Too bad my favorite photo of this pattern is a red one! Oh well. Naming patterns has never been my strong suit!
This shawl has so much squish! With all that garter stitch and the ruffled edge, you’ll never want to stop squeezing this shawl. Make sure you choose and extra squishy yarn like Capretta for maximum results with your Grand Rapids shawl.
This shawl is knit from the top down, mostly in garter stitch. There are some dropped stitch sections to give it a bit of a lacy look, which pairs nicely with the ruffled border. Overall, this beginner-friendly pattern is a relaxing knit.
